Mascarpone and Havarti Cheese Ball

A retro appetizer mainstay!


½ cup | 125 mL
Tre Stelle® Mascarpone

2 cups | 500 mL
Arla® Havarti Cheese, shredded

½ cup | 125 mL
sour cream

¼ cup | 50 mL
green onion, chopped

2 tbsp | 30 mL
Dijon-style mustard

1 tbsp | 15 mL

1 tsp | 5 mL
crushed red chili flakes, if desired

1 cup | 250 mL
sliced hazelnuts or fresh parsley, chopped finely



In a medium bowl add all ingredients and stir until smooth. Taste and add extra seasoning and chili flakes if desired. Refrigerate mixture until firm – approximately 1 hour. Remove from refrigerator and shape into a ball. Roll ball in sliced hazelnuts or chopped parsley. Alternatively roll into 1” balls and roll in a variety of garnishes (poppy seeds, black pepper, chopped mixed herbs or nuts) and served as a cocktail size appetizer.
